Relevant contributions of the CitiSim community: Iván Padilla and his IoT devices

The creation of a community around the CitiSim platform is an important part within the global strategy of the project in order to succeed and not to become an isolated project without any impact in market. For that reason, the CitiSim consortium invests large efforts, not only increasing visibility and popularity among end-users and third parties like companies and universities, but also engaging people as part of that community.

As a result of that effort to increase the amount of people using or at least knowing about CitiSim and promoting the knowledge transfer, we want to specially thank Iván Padilla, former Consulting System Engineer at Cisco Systems and currently Solutions Architect at Red Hat, for his commitment and contribution to the community around CitiSim. He is an active member of this community disseminating the results of the project and, some time ago, he developed and donated a set of volumetric sensors that in collaboration with ARCO Research Group from UCLM have been successfully integrated with the CitiSim platform. Those devices will be part of several real-world demonstrators in combination with other Open Source and Commercial solutions that Abalia, member of the CitiSim consortium, is working with.

We are very proud of signs of interest and collaboration towards the CitiSim project like this and we encourage other researchers, curious people and those passionate about innovative technologies to join and collaborate in any way with the CitiSim ecosystem.
